I have been looking into creating my own personal business cards, using the website; Vista Print.
Here is a screenshot, showing the process of personalizing the cards.

Today I made sure that everything was completed such as my website and all the other social media sites. I ensures I had all my contact information on them all and that people could see a little biography on myself explaining what i'm all about.

I also made sure my CV and Creative CV looked okay and made any last updates to them.

I have been going through all my websites today and updating information such as using the perosonal statement from my CV and using that as a biography to explain myself. I used this on my websites such as Issuu, and Linked In.

I also played around more with some designs for the main page of my wordpress website.

I completed my showreel today, using a song that I created myself using the software 'Fruity Loops Studio'. I wanted to make it around a minute so that it wasn't too long or too short, putting in only my best work that looked the best quality too ensuring it all linked up well, splitting out animation techniques such as stop-motion, hand drawn and 3D so that there was variation with the visuals.

03/05/13 - Final logo design

Below is the final logo image in which I have decided to use as the logo to use on my website.

This logo below could be used without the blue background, to put on things such as videos and pictures in the corner.

I have been really busy lately with other university assignments such as my Major project which was the hand in today. Although, now I have only this assignment left to do, i can purely focus all my attention on making my website look better and uploading more videos onto Vimeo and YouTube.

Week 14 Lecture - 01/05/13

In the final lecture of this module, I was able to show all of my work that I have produced so far for this assignment to my tutors Danny and Anne. I obtained vital feedback from them and wrote down notes of what they said so that I could make any adjustments that I needed.

I was told to make my website look a bit less colourful and more neater with simpler colours making it look less tackky.

I also learned some tips from Anne on how to use certain features on the dashboard of my wordpress website in order to re-arrange certain icons and pictures.

28/04/13 - Developed Logo Ideas

From my initial designs I did yesterday, I developed my ideas further, combining some of the images together.

I preferred the layout on the image above the most.

I also quite liked this design, having the text after the logo, so that It could fit onto my you Tube channel better, I could have this as an alternate image.

The two images above are final designs of the logo with shading to give them a better and more professional edge to them.

My favorite out of the two is the bottom one, where I will work on this more to get it just right.

Week 13 Lecture - 24/04/13

Anne Doncaster today helped us with professional social media.
I made a twitter account for the first time today and edited some information on Issuu.

Week 12 - Lecture 17/04/13

In class today, Danny Bacchus came round again and helped us with our showreels, mine is almost complete so it was a matter of tweaking certain things around in order to get it looking as professional as possible.

I went on my website today (http://nathan425.wordpress.com/) and updated information on my contacts page, putting in logos of online applications such as facebook and twitter, where the viewers would be able to click on the image and it will take them straight to my personal page of that site.

I created some music on the software 'Fruity Loops Studio' today, trying to create a personal catchy tune that would work well to use on my showreel.
I wanted an upbeat and happy song that would hopefully keep the audience entertained while watching so that the audio complimented the visuals.

We were given help and assistance today on things such as getting our website to look good and insterting more pages and links into it. I was also given help on the presentation of my work and showreel, trying to figure out my certain style to represent myself with.

I have been considering lately whether it would be a good idea to create a logo for myself and have it animated so that I could use it at the beginning of my showreel so that it makes myself look more professional and so that I can sell myself a bit more.

This morning, I went onto my Wordpress website and put in pages such as a home page, about me, work, CV and contact details page.
I also played around a bit with different themes and default pictures.

Week 7 Lecture - 13/03/2013

I signed up to wordpress today and started to look into creating my own website/blog using this website. I found out that wordpress is a fairly simple way of creating your own personal website/blog, but comes with limits such as having to pay for certain themes and to personalize your page with certain things.

Week 6 lecture - 06/03/2013

In todays lecture, we went through an online tutorial from blackboard that showed us how to work in a software called Adobe InDesign. We were able to add simple animation to a picture that we had cut out in photoshop. The end result looked quite professional and is something that would work really well on our own website.

For example, we could have some writing on the screen, and in flies in a picture of a drawing that we have made that relates to the text. This is similar to the effect you can generate in powerpoint, but instead, InDesign is more versatile and allows a lot more freedom with creating animated graphics.

I gathered all of my work together today that I could find on my computer, I then sorted each type of animation into three different folders including; 3D work, stop-motion and 2D hand drawn animations.
As i scanned through each video, I jotted down on a notepad all of the good points of each animation and how many seconds in it was so that I had some information to help me cut out the good sections of my animations to use in my showreel.

week 5 lecture - 27/02/2013

In todays lecture, we focused on creating our showreels once again, I was able to look through some of my work on youtube and decide the best few seconds of each of my animations in which would work well in a showreel.

Today we looked at online blogs and got a feel for how they are wrote professionally. We also went through the many uses of microsoft powerpoint.

Week 3 Lecture - 13/02/2013

Todays lecture consisted of looking at examples of showreels and getting tips on how to make our own to the best that we can. Our tutor then came round and us students took turns in showing him most of our best work we have ever done for then to receive feedback on how we could make a showreel with the media

I have been looking at different websites today and getting an idea of how they look. I was inspired by a few websites that really caught my eye in terms of them looking professional and detailed.
For example, I really like the cartoony and fun style of the 'Aardman' website: http://www.aardman.com/
although there isn't much colour, the website works really well and it is easy to read as well as attractive on the eye.

Pixar's website also looks really nice, they have used a black background with white text and I really like this effect they have created. This website also looks neat and well presented, with it being simple colours: http://www.pixar.com/

A contrasting website to the two above is one by the company 'DreamWorks'. This one is my favourite because of the galaxy background, making it look really nice and as though it's in space. The layout is fantastic and the colour scheme works perfectly.

week 1 lecture - 30/01/2013

During this week in lecture, we went through the module outline and found out what we could achieve from this module in terms of distributing yourself around the world by getting your name out there.

I signed up to websites such as 'Linked In' 'Vimeo' and 'Issuu' that would help me with promoting myself as an animator.

This blog is going to last roughly around five months which is the length of time that this module lasts. I will be blogging weekly about each lecture I attend, as well as blogging in my spare time whenever I think about or produce any work for this assingment. This will keep my project up to date and use it as a diary of how the assignment is shaping out.
Producing this blog will also help me when writing my self assessment at the end of the module.
